How we checked

How this comparison was checked

Last checked

  • Sources: each product's own website, help center, pricing page, privacy policy and app store listing. No reviews, forums or third-party roundups.
  • Date: every tool was last checked on September 25, 2026. Prices are published US prices on that date.
  • Verification: each claim was checked a second time against its source. Claims that did not hold up were corrected or left out, and where a product's own pages disagree, both versions are described.
  • Not tested: prediction accuracy, advice quality, speed or uptime. A league connection gives an assistant context; it does not guarantee better results.

FantasyPros: Coach AI and the MCP server

Checked

FantasyPros offers AI in two separate products: Coach AI, a chat inside its own website and app, and an MCP server that brings FantasyPros data and advice tools into Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants.

Strengths

  • The widest league sync compared here: its plans page lists 17 hosts, including ESPN, Yahoo, Sleeper, CBS, MyFantasyLeague and Fantrax.
  • Coach answers from FantasyPros expert rankings, projections and stats, and Draft Coach works inside its mock and real draft rooms.
  • A free account lets the MCP server answer rankings, research and synced-league questions in your own assistant.
  • If you want moves made for you, separate football features can submit them: Lineup Auto-Pilot (MVP tier and up) sets lineups on Yahoo, ESPN, CBS, MyFantasyLeague and Sleeper, and Waiver Planner (HOF) submits a waiver plan in one click.

Limits

  • Coach needs the HOF tier, from $8.99 a month billed yearly to $22.99 billed monthly, and FantasyPros describes it only as a football assistant.
  • The MCP server's six advice tools (start/sit, trade and waiver) need Premium, and its tools cover NFL and MLB only.
  • ESPN sync needs the FantasyPros Chrome extension on a computer or your ESPN password in its app, and an encrypted ESPN cookie is kept on FantasyPros servers.
  • Its privacy policy dates from November 20, 2020, before Coach and the MCP server, and gives no retention period.

RotoBot

Checked

A standalone fantasy football and sports-betting research app with its own AI chat on the web, iOS and Android. It is not a connector for Claude or ChatGPT.

Strengths

  • Syncs Sleeper and Yahoo leagues in the browser and ESPN leagues in its mobile app, with several leagues in one hub.
  • Its trade analyzer handles dynasty, keeper and redraft deals, including future picks, and gives an accept, lean or pass verdict with a confidence percentage.
  • Betting research (a prop analyzer, a parlay builder and live odds) sits alongside the fantasy tools, and its stat explorer is free without signing up.

Limits

  • The AI features are paid: Fantasy Pass is $9.99 a week or $79.99 a year, and Full Access with AI chat is $14.99 a week, $39.99 a month or $179.99 a year.
  • Its own pages disagree on whether chat uses your synced roster yet: the League Sync FAQ says personalized chat is locked, while iOS release notes say league sync is live in the chatbot.
  • League sync is football only, Fantrax and NFL.com are not mentioned, and it does not say how the league connection signs in.
  • Questions are sent to OpenAI and Google Gemini, the privacy policy gives no retention period, and the App Store rates the app 18+.

Scoutcast

Checked

An audio briefing app that turns your Sleeper football league into personalized briefings, with a read-only MCP connector that brings the same data into Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini CLI.

Strengths

  • Four fantasy briefings a week: a Tuesday recap, Waiver Wednesday with FAAB bids, Start/Sit Thursday and a Sunday final call about 90 minutes before kickoff.
  • Sleeper connects with a username and no password, and your roster is re-read before every briefing.
  • Read-only everywhere, so your league cannot be changed through it.

Limits

  • Sleeper is the only connected host. ESPN, Yahoo and NFL.com leagues need a screenshot or pasted lineup, sent again whenever the lineup changes.
  • Up to 3 leagues per account, football only, and fantasy briefings pause from February to August.
  • Its pages disagree on whether roster questions through the MCP connector need the NFL Fantasy Pass ($39.99, renewing each August).
  • Its privacy policy discloses sharing with advertising and analytics partners.
  • No roster moves: it cannot set a lineup, submit a waiver claim, propose a trade or post in league chat.

FantasyBot

Checked

A fantasy app with its own chat on iOS and the web that also works as a ChatGPT app and a Claude custom connector. It runs its own analysis for roster grades, trade values and projections.

Strengths

  • ESPN connects by signing in inside the FantasyBot app, with no extension or cookie copying by you, and setup works from a phone.
  • Covers ESPN, Yahoo and Sleeper in NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL, with roster screenshots for other hosts.
  • Returns computed answers, such as positional roster grades, trade values calibrated to a market curve and weekly projections, not only raw league data.
  • Free to start: 3 questions a day in the app and 40 tool calls a day in ChatGPT or Claude.

Limits

  • Fantrax is not supported.
  • Pro costs $11.99 a month or $99.99 a year and raises the connector limit to 150 tool calls a day.
  • Leagues are linked in the FantasyBot app first, and every tool in the Claude connector needs a FantasyBot account.
  • Its own pages disagree on the number of tools and on whether trade tools are free or Pro.

Flaim

Checked

A free connector that brings ESPN, Yahoo and Sleeper leagues into ChatGPT, Claude and other assistants. It has no chat of its own: your assistant analyzes Flaim's league data with Flaim's analyst playbook.

Strengths

  • Free, with no subscription or paid tier.
  • Supports Yahoo, and covers ESPN and Yahoo leagues in football, baseball, basketball and hockey.
  • Listed in the ChatGPT and Claude directories, with setup steps for Perplexity, Gemini and Grok.
  • Read-only, so your league cannot be changed through it, and credentials are kept away from the AI.
  • Reads league history, draft results and transactions, and publishes its code on GitHub under an MIT license.

Limits

  • ESPN needs its Chrome extension, once, on a computer; phone browsers cannot run it.
  • Sleeper support is football and basketball only, and Fantrax, CBS and NFL.com are not listed in its docs.
  • No projections, grades or trade values of its own beyond what the league platform provides.
  • No roster moves, like League Loom: it cannot trade, add, drop or edit lineups.

ESPN Fantasy's built-in AI

Checked

ESPN builds AI features into its own fantasy app and website for ESPN-hosted leagues: IBM watsonx player insights, waiver and trade grades, a trade analyzer and Auto Control, which lets a League Manager hand a team to AI.

Strengths

  • Nothing to connect: the features sit on the ESPN league you already play in, and ESPN's fantasy games are free to play.
  • Waiver and trade grades are personalized to your roster, with IBM Granite explanations of the top contributing factors.
  • Auto Control can make roster moves, free-agent pickups and waiver claims for a team, which none of the connectors here do.

Limits

  • ESPN leagues only, and IBM announced the AI features for football only.
  • No conversational chat, and no official ESPN connector for ChatGPT or Claude was found.
  • IBM documented these features for the 2023, 2024 and 2025 seasons. ESPN's August 2026 feature announcement does not mention them, so check the app this season.
  • Auto Control runs only in LM leagues after the draft, does not process trades, and turns off when that team's manager makes any change.

General chatbots: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity

Checked

General AI assistants are strong at reasoning and research, but none has built-in fantasy league sync, and a browser agent sees only a league page you open. Each becomes league-aware when you add a connector such as League Loom, Flaim, FantasyBot or the FantasyPros MCP server, or when you paste your roster and scoring.

Strengths

  • Good at weighing a decision you describe, with web search or cited answers for recent news.
  • All four have free plans, and Claude allows one custom connector on its free plan.
  • A connector keeps you in the assistant you already use, for fantasy and everything else.

Limits

  • No built-in fantasy league sync. On September 25, 2026, neither the ChatGPT nor the Claude directory had a connector published by ESPN, Yahoo, Sleeper, Fantrax or CBS, and Gemini and Perplexity listed no fantasy platform.
  • Custom connectors need ChatGPT Plus or higher, or Perplexity Pro or higher. Gemini's custom apps are for US personal accounts, 18 and over, added on the web.
  • Without a connector, advice depends on what you paste, and it goes stale as soon as your roster or the waiver pool changes.
  • Privacy settings differ: ChatGPT and Claude remove deleted chats within 30 days, Gemini keeps activity 18 months by default, and Perplexity keeps AI data retention on until you turn it off.

League Loom (publisher of this page)

Checked

A free connector that brings ESPN, Sleeper and Fantrax leagues into Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP clients. Your assistant reads the league through League Loom's tools and does the analysis.

Strengths

  • Free, with no subscription or per-league fee; fair-use request budgets apply.
  • Connects Fantrax as well as ESPN and Sleeper, up to 25 leagues per provider in one connection, across football, basketball, baseball and hockey.
  • Works inside the assistant you already use, so one conversation can compare several leagues with outside research.
  • Read-only tools, and your credentials are sealed in an encrypted token you hold instead of being stored by default.

Limits

  • No Yahoo support.
  • No roster moves: it cannot set lineups, claim waivers or make trades, even ones you approve.
  • No app or chat of its own. You need Claude, ChatGPT or another MCP client. ChatGPT's custom apps need developer mode on a Plus or higher plan and run only on the web; Claude's phone apps can use the connector.
  • No rankings, projections or trade values of its own. Stats and projections come from your league provider or public research where available, and your assistant does the analysis.
  • Private ESPN leagues need two browser cookies copied on a computer, and it is not listed in the ChatGPT or Claude directories, so you add it by URL.

Find your fit

Which tool fits your league?

You want expert rankings in one app

FantasyPros. Coach AI answers inside its app on the HOF tier, and its MCP server brings FantasyPros rankings into Claude or ChatGPT, with advice tools on Premium.

You play on Yahoo

FantasyBot, Flaim, FantasyPros and RotoBot document Yahoo sync. Flaim is free and FantasyBot has a free daily allowance. League Loom does not support Yahoo.

You play on Fantrax

League Loom connects Fantrax leagues to Claude and ChatGPT for free. FantasyPros also lists Fantrax among the hosts its Premium tools sync with.

You want your own assistant to read the league

League Loom, Flaim, FantasyBot, Scoutcast and the FantasyPros MCP server all connect to Claude or ChatGPT. Match the tool to your league host, then compare price.

You want moves made for you

ESPN Auto Control and FantasyPros Lineup Auto-Pilot and Waiver Planner can submit moves. The connectors compared here, League Loom included, are read-only.

You would rather listen than read

Scoutcast turns a Sleeper football league into scheduled audio briefings, with a read-only connector for follow-up questions.

Test your shortlist with the same question. Ask who to start at flex this week, then have each tool list the league data it read, the outside research it used and anything it could not see.

A tool that cannot read your league is working from what you paste. This page compares documented features from each product's own pages, not prediction accuracy, and League Loom, the publisher, lists its own limits alongside the others.

Questions, answered

What is the best AI for fantasy football?

It depends on your league host and where you want to ask. For expert rankings and projections in one app, look at FantasyPros Coach AI on its HOF tier. To use your own assistant, League Loom (ESPN, Sleeper, Fantrax) and Flaim (ESPN, Yahoo, Sleeper) are free connectors, and FantasyBot adds its own grades and projections. ESPN players also get built-in waiver and trade grades.

Is there a free AI for fantasy football?

Yes. League Loom and Flaim are free connectors, though your AI service's own plan still applies. FantasyBot is free for 3 app questions and 40 connector tool calls a day, a free FantasyPros account covers rankings and research through its MCP server, and ESPN's fantasy games are free to play with no separate price listed for their AI features. Coach AI, RotoBot and FantasyBot Pro are paid.

Can an AI tool make roster moves for me?

A few features can. ESPN Auto Control lets a League Manager hand a team to AI that makes roster moves and waiver claims, but not trades. FantasyPros Lineup Auto-Pilot and Waiver Planner can submit football lineups and waiver plans. League Loom, Flaim, Scoutcast and the FantasyPros MCP server are read-only, and FantasyBot is read-only today.

Can ChatGPT or Claude read my fantasy league without a connector?

Not as data. Neither has built-in league sync, a browser agent can only see a league page you open, and on September 25, 2026 neither directory had a connector published by ESPN, Yahoo, Sleeper, Fantrax or CBS. For your roster, scoring and waiver pool as data, add a third-party connector such as League Loom, Flaim, FantasyBot or the FantasyPros MCP server, or paste your roster and scoring into the chat.

Which fantasy AI tools work with Yahoo?

FantasyPros, FantasyBot, Flaim and RotoBot all document Yahoo league sync. League Loom does not support Yahoo; it connects ESPN, Sleeper and Fantrax leagues.

Do I need a paid AI plan to use a fantasy connector?

It depends on the assistant. Claude allows one custom connector on its free plan. ChatGPT custom connectors need Plus or higher, Perplexity custom connectors need Pro or higher, and Gemini custom apps are limited to US personal accounts. The connector's own price is separate: League Loom and Flaim are free.

How was this comparison checked?

Each product's own website, help articles, pricing and privacy policy were read on September 25, 2026, and every claim was checked a second time against its source. Prediction accuracy was not tested. League Loom publishes this page and is one of the products compared, and its limits are listed with the rest.

Does connecting a league guarantee better predictions?

No. A live connection gives the assistant league context, but does not guarantee correct analysis, current news, or better fantasy results. Ask what data supports each recommendation and what information is missing.

Can I set League Loom up on my phone?

Add the connector on a computer: claude.ai or Claude Desktop, or ChatGPT on the web. What works on a phone afterward depends on the assistant. In Claude, a connector added on the web or desktop is also available in the Claude iOS and Android apps, so you can ask about your leagues from your phone. In ChatGPT, custom apps like League Loom currently run only on the web, not in the ChatGPT phone apps. If you start on a phone, use Send to my computer to email or message yourself the link and finish later.

Before you connect a league, read how League Loom is built, what the privacy policy says is stored, the terms of service and the full FAQ, or check the press kit with key facts and who builds it.
