In-season adds, ranked by need

AI Waiver Wire Assistant

Ask about waivers and the assistant returns a ranked shortlist of adds for each connected league, each one paired with a drop candidate, the roster gap it fills and your returned FAAB balance or waiver priority.

League Loom reads the available-player pool and league settings from ESPN, Sleeper or Fantrax; you submit the claim yourself in your fantasy app.

Who are the best available waiver wire adds across all my leagues?

Ranked separately for each league by the gap it fills on that roster, with the drop it would cost you.

1
Jaylen WarrenRB · PIT44% avail.
ESPN: backfield trending his way, clear RB2 value. Drop your third tight end, who has not started for you all season.
2
Jauan JenningsWR · SF51% avail.
Sleeper: target volume spiking with the receiver room banged up. Drop the handcuff back whose starter is healthy.
3
Tyjae SpearsRB · TEN38% avail.
Fantrax: one injury from a true workhorse role, so a speculative stash rather than a starter.
Claim Warren first. He fills the biggest gap and your returned FAAB balance covers the bid with room left. Confirm your league's claim deadline before you submit.

Should I spend waiver budget on running-back cover?

Jones is questionable in flex. Mason is now listed active on your bench, alongside Harvey and White. Check expected usage and the upcoming schedule before deciding whether an available pickup improves on those options.

Price remains on injured reserve. Follow his recovery, but do not count on a return date from this snapshot. If you still need cover for the next eligible lineup period, compare the actual available pool, claim deadline and possible drop before bidding. A pickup cannot replace a locked player.

How the weekly waiver run goes

The pool is your league's, not the internet's

The assistant browses the players you can actually add in one league, free agents plus waivers, ordered by that provider's own best-available rank. Platform-wide trending adds are a separate Sleeper-wide list that is not availability-aware, so it never stands in for your pool.

Your roster gap sets the order

It reads your roster, starting slots and scoring first, so the shortlist is ranked by the hole it fills rather than by a national ranking. Ask for one add per gap and the drop you would make for it.

Budget only where the provider returns it

Sleeper reports the waiver system as FAAB, rolling or reverse standings, plus each team's remaining budget and waiver position. ESPN reports FAAB and the season budget when the league uses an acquisition budget. Fantrax may return a player salary. Anything a provider does not return stays unknown.

Locked slots are not swap candidates

Rosters come back with a lineup period and a per-player lock state. A starter already locked for this period cannot be replaced in it, so the assistant should plan the alternative for the next eligible period instead.

Deadlines and rival bids stay yours

No tool returns your league's waiver processing time or anyone else's bid. Confirm the deadline in your fantasy app, and treat a suggested bid as reasoning about your own budget, not knowledge of the claim you are up against.

Worked example

One player, two different decisions

Illustrative example with fictional player names and budgets. It demonstrates the reasoning process, not current rankings or expected results.

  1. Confirm availability in each league

Suppose Running Back A is available in your Sleeper league but already rostered in your ESPN league. Only the Sleeper team has this waiver option.

  2. Compare the roster need

Your Sleeper team needs an RB this week. Ask the assistant to compare A with your bench replacement and explain the cost of the proposed drop. Supply current news if it cannot research it.

  3. Check the budget before bidding

Suppose the returned FAAB balance is 40 and you are considering a bid of 6. That spends 15% and leaves 34 if successful. The assistant can explain the trade-off but cannot know rival bids or submit the claim.

Try this after connecting

Review waivers separately for each of my connected teams. Read my roster, league settings, and available players. Suggest up to three adds per league with a possible drop and the reason. Use FAAB, waiver priority, or salary only where returned. Return a separate table per league with add, possible drop, roster need, cost where known and uncertainty. Confirm the claim deadline with me if it was not returned. Flag missing data, cite any outside news separately, and distinguish facts from your judgment. Do not submit any moves.

FAAB

How much FAAB to bid, from your real balance

Sleeper returns each team's remaining FAAB and waiver position, and ESPN returns the season budget when a league uses FAAB, so the assistant can put a bid in terms of your own budget. It cannot see what other managers will bid or when your league processes claims, so treat any number as a budget argument, not a winning bid.

Remaining, not starting

A season budget is not your remaining balance. If only the season budget comes back, tell the assistant what you have left.

One gap, one bid

Ask for the bid on the add that fills your biggest roster gap first, then what that leaves for the rest of the season.

Rolling priority

In a rolling or reverse-standings league there is no bid. Sleeper returns your waiver position, and the question becomes whether this player is worth moving to the back of the line.

Illustrative example with fictional players and budgets. It shows the shape of an answer, not a bid recommendation for a real player.

You askHow much of my FAAB should I spend on Running Back A?

Example answer

Sleeper returned your remaining FAAB of 62 out of 100, and you are 5th in waiver order.

Running Back A fills your only open starting slot with a bye week coming. The drop would be your fourth tight end, who has not started all season.

A bid of 12 to 18 spends 19% to 29% of what you have left and keeps at least 44 for the rest of the season. I cannot see rival bids, so confirm the claim deadline in Sleeper and set the number yourself.

Size a FAAB bid

Use League Loom to confirm my team, league and season, then read my roster, scoring, the available-player pool and my waiver budget or priority where returned. If only a season budget came back, ask me for my remaining balance. For the one add I name, explain the roster gap it fills, the drop it would cost and a bid range as a share of my remaining budget, with the reasoning. Say plainly that you cannot see other managers' bids or the claim deadline, and ask me to confirm the deadline. I will submit any claim myself.

What it cannot know

  • Other managers' bids or claims.
  • Your league's waiver processing day or time. Confirm it in your fantasy app.
  • A remaining balance the provider does not return.

Basketball and hockey

Waiver adds for fantasy basketball and hockey

The waiver run works the same for NBA and NHL leagues: the assistant reads your league's available players, your roster and your scoring, then pairs each add with a drop. Two things need outside sources.

Streaming for games played depends on real NBA and NHL schedules, which are not returned, and a hockey goalie only helps if he starts, which the data does not confirm.

Categories need stats

In a category league, ask which categories an add helps using stat values that came back. Fantrax available-player data can include the league's stat columns in viewable leagues, and ESPN player lookups can include season stat values.

Hockey goalies

Check goalie slots and any minimum first, then confirm the expected starter in current reporting before spending a claim on a goalie.

Check these elsewhere

  • NBA and NHL game schedules for streaming.
  • Confirmed goalie starts, minutes and rest days.

Why League Loom

In-season adds, ranked by need

An available-player list is the starting point for a waiver decision. Your scoring, roster gaps, eligible positions, and the player you would drop change the trade-off.

League Loom reads the league data, while your assistant explains its recommendation. Sleeper can supply remaining FAAB and waiver priority; Fantrax can supply player salaries.

Exact fields vary by provider and league. Do not treat platform-wide popularity as proof that a player is available in your league, and do not treat an AI bid suggestion as knowledge of another manager's claim.

FAQ

Questions

Does it only show players available in my league?

League Loom reads the available-player pool for your league. Ask the assistant to base suggestions on that returned list, and recheck availability before submitting a claim.

Can it rank adds across multiple leagues at once?

Yes. Connect every league and ask in one prompt. League Loom can rank adds for each roster by its specific needs.

Does it support Fantrax waivers?

Yes. Fantrax is a core differentiator. League Loom reads Fantrax availability for NBA, NFL, MLB, and NHL leagues.

Is my league FAAB or waiver priority?

The assistant reads your league's own waiver settings instead of assuming. Sleeper reports FAAB, rolling or reverse standings along with each team's remaining budget and waiver position. ESPN reports FAAB and the season budget when the league uses an acquisition budget. If the provider does not return the field, it is reported as unknown rather than guessed.

When do waivers process in my league?

League Loom does not return a waiver processing day or time for any provider, so the assistant should ask you to confirm the deadline in ESPN, Sleeper or Fantrax rather than state one. The rest of the recommendation, the pool, your roster and your budget, comes from the league itself.

How much FAAB should I bid?

The assistant can do the arithmetic against your returned balance, for example that a bid of 6 out of 40 spends 15% and leaves 34, and weigh that against the gap the player fills. It cannot see what a rival is bidding, so treat the number as a budget argument, not a winning bid.

Will it warn me if a suggested pickup is injured or on a bye?

Ask the assistant to check returned injury and bye information and flag anything missing. Recheck current news before acting; a live league connection does not guarantee a complete or correct recommendation.

Can it factor in a player's contract cost in my Fantrax auction league?

Fantrax may return a listed salary. Supply any missing contract terms, cap rules, waiver pricing, or drop penalties yourself. The assistant should confirm those assumptions before comparing costs.
