Getting started
What is League Loom?
League Loom is a free AI connector for fantasy sports. It brings live ESPN, Sleeper, and Fantrax league data into Claude, ChatGPT, and other MCP-compatible AI tools so you can ask about rosters, waivers, matchups, standings, drafts, and lineup decisions in plain language.

What is a fantasy sports MCP server?
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that lets AI tools read outside data sources. League Loom is an MCP server for fantasy sports: it gives Claude, ChatGPT, or any MCP compatible tool a set of read tools for live ESPN, Sleeper, and Fantrax league data. Once connected, the AI answers from your real rosters, matchups, standings, and waiver wire instead of guessing from training data.

How do I connect Claude or ChatGPT to my fantasy league?
Add League Loom as a custom connector in your AI tool, paste the League Loom connector URL, and finish the guided setup to choose your teams. Every league tool retrieves or analyzes data, so League Loom cannot change your lineup or your account.

Do I need a developer account, API keys, or to host anything?
No. League Loom is hosted for you. You add one connector URL in Claude, ChatGPT, or another MCP-compatible tool, then authorize and pick your teams. There is no server to run and no platform API key to manage.

Is League Loom free?
Yes. The MCP server and connector are free, with no subscription and no per-league fee. Fair-use request budgets apply. Connect supported ESPN, Sleeper, and Fantrax leagues and ask questions from your AI tool.

Can I set League Loom up on my phone?
Add the connector on a computer: claude.ai or Claude Desktop, or ChatGPT on the web. What works on a phone afterward depends on the assistant. In Claude, a connector added on the web or desktop is also available in the Claude iOS and Android apps, so you can ask about your leagues from your phone. In ChatGPT, custom apps like League Loom currently run only on the web, not in the ChatGPT phone apps. If you start on a phone, use Send to my computer to email or message yourself the link and finish later.
How long does it take to connect my league?
Most users can connect in about two minutes. Sleeper is usually fastest because it only needs your username. ESPN private leagues need your own ESPN cookies, and Fantrax league discovery can use a read-only Secret ID.

Is League Loom available outside the United States?
Yes. There is no country restriction: the connector URL and setup are the same everywhere, and the site is available in the EU, the UK, Canada, Australia, and anywhere else. What you do need is an AI tool that supports MCP connectors in your country, and an ESPN, Sleeper, or Fantrax account that already works where you are.
AI tools
Can I use ChatGPT or Claude for fantasy football?
Yes. League Loom connects ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI tools to your real fantasy football leagues, so answers can use your actual rosters, matchups, standings, and available players instead of generic rankings or pasted snapshots.

Do I have to paste my roster into ChatGPT?
No. ChatGPT and Claude cannot see your fantasy league by themselves, but League Loom gives them a live connection to your leagues. You ask in plain language, and the AI can pull the current league data it needs.

How do I connect League Loom to Muse?
Ask Muse in chat to create a custom connector for https://leagueloom.com/mcp. Complete the League Loom /setup page to choose your leagues. Provide the resulting token yourself through Muse's secure credential-entry flow when offered, then review the access request and verify your connected team. Do not paste the token into ordinary chat. This is the owner's reported workflow; a complete Muse connection has not been independently tested for this guide.
Is League Loom an official Meta Muse connector?
This guide describes a custom connection requested in chat. It does not claim a Meta-reviewed directory listing or endorsement. A custom connection does not establish a reviewed directory listing.

Does League Loom work outside Claude and ChatGPT?
Yes. League Loom uses the Model Context Protocol, so it can work with MCP-compatible tools such as Cursor, Cline, Goose, Raycast, and other clients that support custom MCP servers or connectors.

Can I use League Loom with Gemini?
Yes, wherever your Gemini setup can add a custom MCP connector. League Loom is a standard remote MCP server, not a Claude or ChatGPT plugin, so any client that supports MCP connectors can point at the League Loom connector URL and complete the same OAuth sign-in. Claude and ChatGPT get step-by-step guides on this site because their connector menus are the ones most people use.
Should I use Claude or ChatGPT for fantasy?
Either works, and League Loom reads the same live league data in both, so the answers are grounded either way. Pick the AI tool you already pay for or already use, because the difference you will notice is the assistant's writing style, not the league data underneath. Two setup differences matter: Claude's free plan allows one custom connector and its phone apps can use it, while ChatGPT needs a Plus or higher plan with developer mode and runs custom apps only on the web. You can also connect both to the same League Loom connection and compare.

What can I ask the AI about my fantasy teams?
Ask about start/sit decisions, waiver-wire adds, trade ideas, standings, draft results, weekly matchups, live scores, bye-week risk, injuries, roster holes, and how all of your teams are doing across every connected league.

Can the AI see all of my fantasy leagues at once?
Yes. League Loom is built for multi-league managers. A single question can aggregate your teams across ESPN, Sleeper, and Fantrax, then summarize standings, matchups, roster risk, and waiver options in one answer.
Should I trust the AI to make final roster decisions?
Use the AI as decision support, not an autopilot. League Loom gives the AI current league context, but you still choose and make the move in the provider app. No tool can make a move in your league, so League Loom cannot make one for you. Any future write tool would require your explicit confirmation.

Sports and data
Is my league data kept up to date?
League Loom reads provider data when the AI asks for it, so answers use the current roster, standings, matchup, draft, or player data available from that provider. It does not rely on an old roster pasted into a chat.
What player data is available?
ESPN player data includes identity, availability, ownership, season fantasy points and projections, and stat values keyed by ESPN stat IDs where returned; league-scored points for a week or matchup period come from matchup box scores. Fantrax includes identity, availability, ADP, cross-platform IDs, and Sleeper injury enrichment where available, plus ownership, season points and stat columns for available players in publicly viewable leagues, or private ones with a Fantrax session cookie saved at setup. Sleeper includes identity, injury status, availability, and cross-platform IDs; league scoring comes from matchup box scores. All three support public player research with attributed news, injury details, profiles, stats, projections and optional game logs/splits where available. Public research retains its own source, period and scoring. The capabilities page is the source of truth.

Can League Loom find waiver-wire targets?
Yes. League Loom can list available players and waiver options where the provider supports it, then let the AI compare them against your roster needs and league context.

Can the AI help with my fantasy draft?
Yes. The AI can read your league's draft picks as recorded by your platform, including round, overall pick, and auction bids where applicable, plus the available player pool. The prompt library includes Draft Kit prompts for Sleeper, ESPN, and Fantrax that build a cheat sheet from your league's own scoring and roster rules, and during a draft you can ask who is still available at a position of need.

Does League Loom work with custom or dynasty leagues?
Usually, if the provider exposes the league through its read data. League Loom reads the league settings, rosters, standings, draft data, and matchups that the platform returns, including many custom formats.

Privacy and setup
Can League Loom change my lineup or make moves for me?
No. Every league tool League Loom registers retrieves or analyzes data, so it cannot submit lineup changes, waiver claims, adds, drops, or trades. The one tool that creates anything publishes a recap or power-ranking page on leagueloom.com, and only when you ask your AI for a link. Setup only ever asks for the credentials needed to read your leagues. If write actions are added later, they would require your explicit opt-in and would present the exact move for your confirmation first.

Where do I paste my League Loom token?
Use the secure credential-entry flow Muse provides for the connection, after checking the destination and requested access. Ask for that flow if Muse asks for a token in chat. If it is unavailable, stop before sharing the token. Never append a token to the MCP server URL. The server expects it in the Authorization header as a Bearer token.

Where are my credentials stored?
Credentials are sealed into your own encrypted connection token. By default, we do not save it. If you verify an email and choose recovery, we keep an encrypted backup that you can delete from the edit screen. Each user connects their own leagues, and the server reads only the data needed to answer the requested tool call. So a repeat question can be answered faster, a successful league read may be held in memory for up to 30 seconds for the same connection, then discarded. Matchup scores and lineup points are always read fresh.
See also: Privacy policy · How the encrypted token works
Can I edit my setup if I lose my connection key?
Yes, if you enabled optional email recovery. On the final review screen, check Add optional email recovery, verify your email, then save. Later, choose Email me a sign-in link to edit. Links work once and expire in 15 minutes. Anyone with your inbox or link can access your saved setup, so keep both private. We store your email and an encrypted backup only for recovery, never marketing. One saved setup per email is kept for up to 400 days after the last save. You can turn recovery off and delete the backup from the edit screen. Without recovery or a current key, you need to set up again. Expired or revoked keys cannot be recovered.

What if ESPN says my league cannot be read?
ESPN private-league cookies rotate often. If ESPN returns an authorization error, copy fresh espn_s2 and SWID values from your browser, then in setup choose Edit my existing setup, replace both cookies and save. Within a minute, Claude and ChatGPT will ask you to reconnect League Loom the next time you use it: choose Connect or Reconnect, then I already have a League Loom token, and paste the new token. Copies of the old token stop working. In other apps, or if you see an error instead, disconnect League Loom there and connect it again. Public ESPN leagues do not need those cookies.

Can I remove a league or reconnect later?
Yes. In setup, choose Email me a sign-in link if you enabled email recovery, or choose Edit my existing setup and paste a current connection token to load your saved leagues, team IDs, seasons, and rules. Edit or remove a league, add another, or replace access details, then save. Expired or revoked tokens cannot be loaded, and the token must come from the same site. Starting a fresh setup instead does not sign out older tokens. If a token may have been exposed, edit and save it, email support@leagueloom.com and we can invalidate every token that connection issued before that point, or rotate the provider credential yourself, which has the same effect.
Tools and prompts
What MCP tools can an AI call?
League Loom exposes 19 read-only tools for provider catalogs, connected setup, league discovery, league info, rosters, standings, matchups, schedules and playoff pictures, transactions, drafts, available and trending players, specific player lookup, trade analysis, team summaries, cross-league exposure, league health, and weekly digests, plus one opt-in tool that publishes a recap or power-ranking page for your league chat when you ask. A weekly digest can show league standings, matchups and activity without a selected team. When your team is identified, it includes personalized roster checks.

Does League Loom include ready-made prompts?
Yes. The prompt library includes copyable prompts for weekly newsletters, waiver reports, lineup checks, trade ideas, draft recaps, power rankings, and matchup summaries. Claude users can also use built-in League Loom prompts from the connector menu.

What connector URL should I paste into my AI tool?
Use https://leagueloom.com/mcp, without adding a connection token to the URL. Claude and ChatGPT use guided authorization. A client using header authentication needs the token from League Loom's /setup page in the Authorization header as a Bearer token. For Muse, follow the chat-based setup guide and use a private credential-entry flow.
