Contend or rebuild

A dynasty fantasy football AI roster audit

Most dynasty decisions start with one question: is this a season to push or to build? League Loom gives ChatGPT or Claude what that call depends on: your roster and every other team's, the standings, your scoring and roster slots where the provider returns them, player ages where Sleeper or Fantrax returns them, and Fantrax salaries. The assistant judges your window from that data and labels any outside dynasty rankings as research.

Ages from the league

Sleeper and Fantrax can return player ages, so the assistant can show how old your starters are at each position. Where ages are not returned, it should label them as research.

Standings set the window

Your record and points against the rest of the league show whether you are contending this season. Ask the assistant to say which window it assumed.

Depth over two seasons

Your starters, your bench and every other roster show where you are thin now, and which positions other teams also need, before you buy or sell.

Salaries on Fantrax

Fantrax returns each rostered player's current salary, and keeper years left when a viewable league has that column. Supply cap rules and contract terms that are not returned.

Illustrative example with fictional players. It shows the shape of an answer, not a dynasty ranking or a recorded league.

You askAm I a contender or should I rebuild in my Sleeper dynasty league?

Example answer

Your roster and the standings came back: you are 2-3 and fifth in points scored in a 12-team superflex league.

Sleeper returned ages. Your top two running backs are 29 and 30, your receivers average 24, and your quarterbacks are your strength.

This reads as a team one season from contending. Sell an older running back for younger receivers or picks you name, and hold your quarterbacks. Any pick values would be research, not league data.

Audit my dynasty roster

Use League Loom to confirm my dynasty league, team and season, then read my roster, every other team's roster, the standings, and our scoring and roster slots where returned. If the league or team is unclear, ask me before advising. Tell me whether my roster looks like a contender or a rebuild this season and why, using returned records, points and player ages only where the provider returned them. List my three oldest key starters and my three thinnest positions for the next two seasons. Label any dynasty rankings or prospect notes as outside research, and ask me for pick ownership or contract terms instead of guessing. I will make any moves myself.

What it will not do

  • Produce dynasty trade values or rankings of its own. Those come from outside research the assistant should label.
  • Read who owns future draft picks. Name them yourself.
  • Return contract years, cap rules or keeper costs your provider does not return.
  • Make a trade or roster move. You do that in your fantasy app.

ChatGPT and Claude

Use ChatGPT or Claude as your dynasty assistant

A general chatbot does not know your dynasty roster, your league's scoring or the eleven teams you are competing with, so its advice stays generic. Connect League Loom and the same ChatGPT or Claude conversation reads your ESPN, Sleeper or Fantrax league before it answers.

The connector is free. ChatGPT runs it on the web in developer mode; in Claude, add it on a computer, then ask from Claude's phone app.

What a plain chatbot is missing

Your roster, player ages, scoring settings such as a superflex slot or a tight end premium where your provider returns them, and every other roster in the league. Without them it guesses or asks you to paste everything.

What League Loom adds

Live reads of your rosters, standings, matchups, transactions, draft results and available players, with no API keys or code.

What you still supply

Future pick ownership, contract terms and keeper costs that are not returned, plus your own view of rookies. Ask the assistant to keep those apart from league data.

Ask your first dynasty question

Use League Loom to list my connected leagues and confirm which one is my dynasty league, my team and the season. Read the league settings, scoring and roster slots where returned, and tell me what format this is, including superflex, a tight end premium or keeper rules if the settings show them. Then summarize my roster by position with ages where returned, and suggest the three questions I should ask you next about trades, rookies or my contention window. Keep returned league data separate from outside research.

Keeper and salary leagues

Dynasty keepers and salary-cap contracts with AI

In keeper and salary-cap dynasty leagues, every decision is cost against value. Fantrax returns each rostered player's current salary, and keeper years left when your viewable league has that column, and ESPN draft results can flag keepers.

Cap rules, escalators and keeper costs are not returned, so you supply them and the assistant keeps them apart from league data.

Cost against replacement

Ask the assistant to compare each keeper's cost with what a similar available player costs, using returned salaries and the available-player pool.

Cap space, not just talent

Give it your cap and any escalators. It can then show which salaries to shed to fit a trade or a claim.

Your rulebook decides

Keeper deadlines, limits and contract lengths come from your league's rules. Paste the relevant rules so the advice follows them.

Illustrative example with fictional players and salaries. It shows the shape of an answer, not a valuation or a recorded league.

You askI can keep three players in my Fantrax salary league. Who should they be?

Example answer

Your roster came back with salaries: Receiver A costs $42 with one keeper year left, Running Back B costs $9 and Quarterback C costs $31.

You told me the cap is $200 and kept salaries rise $5 a year. Two available receivers with similar returned production cost under $15.

Keep Running Back B and Quarterback C, and let Receiver A go unless you can trade him first. The $5 raise is your rule, not league data.

Rank my keeper options

Use League Loom to confirm my league, team and season, then read my roster with any returned salaries, keeper years and draft results, and the available-player pool. Ask me for our keeper rules, cap, escalators and deadline if they were not returned, and keep my answers separate from league data. Rank my keeper candidates by value against cost, show what a comparable available player costs, and tell me which salaries I could shed to make room. Label any outside rankings as research. I will submit keepers myself.

What it cannot check

  • Keeper costs, escalators or cap rules your provider does not return.
  • Contract years beyond what a viewable Fantrax league shows.
  • Whether a keeper is eligible under your rulebook, unless you supply the rule.

Why League Loom

Multi-year roster brains for dynasty leagues

A dynasty decision needs both your current roster and the rules that shape future value. League Loom retrieves supported rosters, standings, draft results and available players.

Fantrax may also return salaries. Confirm future pick ownership, keeper costs and contract terms yourself when they are missing.

Ask the assistant to compare your lineup and depth before and after a move, separating league facts from player forecasts. Current tools retrieve or analyze data; you make all moves yourself.

FAQ

Questions

Is there an official dynasty AI plugin, and is League Loom safe to use?

League Loom is an independent MCP connector, not an official product of ESPN, Sleeper or Fantrax. Its tools read or analyze league data, apart from a recap or ranking page you ask it to share, and none can submit roster moves. Provider credentials are sealed in your encrypted connection, with an optional encrypted email recovery backup.

Can it see contract and keeper values for my dynasty league?

Fantrax may return player salaries, but complete contract terms, future costs and keeper rules are not guaranteed. Supply any missing details before comparing a trade or keeper. ESPN and Sleeper provide supported roster, standings, draft and player data; do not assume every dynasty-specific field is available.

Does it cost anything or require API keys?

No. League Loom is free and needs no API keys. You add the connector in your AI tool, pick your team, and start asking. There is nothing to install on your computer and no developer setup.

Which platforms and sports work for dynasty football?

For NFL dynasty, League Loom supports ESPN, Sleeper, and Fantrax. It connects over MCP, so it works with Claude, ChatGPT, and other MCP-capable AI tools. You can also connect multiple leagues and ask the AI to compare your dynasty rosters across all of them at once.

Can AI tell me whether to contend or rebuild in dynasty?

It can make the case from your league: records, points, player ages where Sleeper or Fantrax returns them, and your depth against every other team. The call itself is the assistant's judgment, and any dynasty rankings it uses are outside research it should label.

Does it understand superflex and tight end premium leagues?

Where your provider returns the settings. ESPN and Sleeper return roster slots, ESPN returns points per stat, and Sleeper's scoring settings include bonuses such as a tight end premium. Fantrax returns a scoring label only, so describe your roster slots and bonuses yourself.

Can I ask about my dynasty league from my phone?

Yes, in Claude: add League Loom on a computer, then ask from Claude's phone app. ChatGPT custom apps run on the web only, not in ChatGPT's phone apps.
